The goal of this project was to figure out if there’s more lichen on trees located on green spaces or near traffic. We also wanted to see how air pollution affects the lichen on trees. Using the airbeam, we were able to get the particulate matter of the area where the tree were located.

The question we asked was " Is there more lichen on trees near streets or green spaces?" In order to answer this, we went to different locations near the Nature Museum. We looked for trees in green spaces and in a area where there's traffic. We learned that there's more lichen on trees that are located near traffic then tress located in green spaces. This is because there's more air pollution near streets. A 

Air Pollution

Air pollution is caused by human activity, harmful substances including particulates and biological molecules are released into Earth's atmosphere which can cause diseases.
